Luzerne Cut Glass Company - 2016Little was previously known about this cut glass firm that was in business in Pittston, PA - in the heart of Pennsylvania’s Anthracite Coal mining region - from 1911 to 1926. The company did not publish catalogs, but would loan interested parties a collection of photographs. The ACGA, in collaboration with the Rakow Research Library of The Corning Museum of Glass, is publishing this year an original set of photographs of Luzerne’s cut glass from the Rakow’s archives. It is thought to be the only surviving set. The 106 page catalog contains some 600 items and many newly rediscovered named patterns. It includes a comprehensive pattern index and a recently researched history of the firm. Member Price: $43 |

Rochester Cut Glass Company Rochester Cut Glass Company, of Rochester, PA, is one about which little is known about. New research has uncovered its story, c. 1896 to 1922. They specialized in cut glass tumblers and tableware. A history of the firm is written by Kelly A. Conway, Curator of American Glass at the Corning Museum of Class. Over 100 new patterns.
